Are Crx and Ef hatch Door Latches the same ?
I searched in this forum through the 4th page. Nobody seemed to have my problem. I bought a standard ef hatch as a daily driver last month. The seatbelt lights keep coming on, and the driver door had adjustment issues it would not close without slamming it.
I had the door adjusted, and found the problem with the driver side latch not working properly causing the seatbelt light problems.. I have a driver door latch out of a crx but I wanted to know if that will work in the hatch ? Thanks
Cliffs: Need door latch, will crx latch work in hatch?

Door latch will work just fine. if your seatbelt light is on... its not the.door latch. check the wire plug under the seat. that's what controls the seatbelt light.

Thanks. The latch is at least bad. It's more than just the seatbelt light only it's the door ajar also and blinking seatbelt light

Then check the wires inside the little black plastic door/dome light switch. Looks like a little "L" that slides.. When the door is open, the switch slides and grounds causing the circuit to be completed. Those can get corroded inside and not function correctly. Basically it means the wire is permanently grounded causing the light / door ajar light to stay on. You could always remove the door switch and have not issues but then your dome would not work correctly either.

wreckin-rex91. We were both correct. You were correct that the crx door latch is the same, however you need to use both of the rods from the latch to the handle off of the crx also.
I was correct that this did fix my problem. No more door ajar light, or seatbelt light. Seatsbelt now lock up and function like they are supposed to.

Glad it has been solved! I ripped all the seat belt crap out of my doors cause the door mounted seat belts suck!!!! lol. I am doing harnesses now. Good luck with your future adventures!
