Default Compatible Dash Harness

I wanted to post this because some of us have to do under dash harness swaps due to a cut up ecu harness or etc, No one posted something like this so i had to figure it out the hard way.

So heres my experience:

Sedan and hatchback harness have a different plug by the under dash fuse box that sends signal to the fuel pump to prime. YOu have to take off the old plug from the sedan and match up wires to the hatchback harness and plug it in, you will have 4 extra wires left unused.

Other than that it worked fine.

Speaking of EF cabin harnesses, I had my own dilemma with hatchback and 4 door cabin harness problems.

My cabin harness fried up and I had to get another harness from the junkyard. With my luck, I only found 4 door EFs out in the junkyard, so I pulled a harness from a 91 4door.

I only planned to replace the wires that were fried, but then I got to a point when some wires didn't match up to that blue (or was it green?) plug near the climate controls. so I just gave up and need to go back for a hatchback cabin harness.

Anyways, I didn't know about the different plug under the in dash fuse box.

but yeah, bump for a good thread any other experiences?!?

I also want to add this question because I still need to get another cabin harness:

-Would an Si EF cabin harness install into a Standard Civic Hatchback? any differences besides being multipoint fuel injected? I have a B-series swap in my EF already and since I have to replace the cabin harness, I want to skip the step of converting to multi point (DX to Si) by just finding an Si cabin harness. Thanks in advance.-

haha damn thats ghey man ^^^^. i hate wiring disasters like that, especially whn you have to color match wires and stress out if you short something or look in the Car manual every 10 seconds. it blows.

Update: my heater doesnt turn on because the plug has a different shape, but i still have the old harness so i can switch heater plugs and im set .

Another issue:for some reason the plug for the small Clock in the middle didnt reach all the way.

Good to know

K_1 I thought I had it bad, thieves cut all the ecu plugs out of the car I bought. Yours looks more like a big mess

I know man! tell me about it! if you can see in the pic, I flagged each and every wire on my harness, and with the 4door harness, then recorded everything onto a sheet of paper of each and every plug and slot where they came from and which wire from the 4door goes where......and then to learn in the end that both harnesses weren't even the exact same! I was so pissed...

but yeah, I would just buy a brand new one from Genuine Honda Parts, but it costs freakin' $500 bucks when I can just wait for a donor EF to pull the harness from for $40 bucks at the junkyard. I think I'm finally going to go back and check this weekend

but yeah....cabin harnesses are no joke to mess up your day....that and thieves
