code 17 help
i have a b18a1 runing a b16 cable tranny and a obd0 ecu i keep getting a code 17 and know it's the vss code my speedo cable is fine what else could give me this code?

my buddies car did the same thing, 89 crx with b18a1. and to fix it we swapped out his gauge cluster, and the CEL went away.

I assume your speedometer is showing a speed. But its probably wrong. If so...
I will tell you I have seen that problem before. You need to swap out the whole speedo cable assembly on the trans. The gears on speedo assembly on the B18 trans spin faster or slower than the gears from the original trans. So if you put the old assembly on the B18 trans it should work.
