Has spark the second you click from 0 to I. A small bolt of spark from plug #1. Cranking no spark.

Stumped. Been for a year. Just pulled stuff back apart.

Put a new ecu in. Rebuild dist. With a new ICM. Rebuild another dist. That I suspect coil went bad. Just tried all that still same. conditions.

Anyone?

EF swap, b16a xsi engine. Any helps is appreciate. Check my old or last couple posts to see what I was dealing with.

Does the fuel pump prime?

Fuel pump I hot wired hot off ignition. It went out and would not prime before. I decoded to run a wire from pump to interior 12v hot source on when key is turned on.

I have a few main relay boxes. One brand new. One was in car. Swap them out. No changes.

My dad claims it looses power hot to distributor when cranking.

To me its strange how it sparks when the key is turned on. After cranking it doesn't spark.

You have no spark or fuel. Check the two ECU fuses and the thermostat ground.

CEL codes?

What sparks? You haven't said.

#1 plug is pulled and grounded. Key on car off the "click" from 0 to I I get spark on plug #.

Key on ignition cranking position III no spark on spark plug #1

I do believe the car also does supply fuel, to injectors but it is not spraying in then cylinders. If that helps. ??

The car just completely shut down on me 1 year ago after I put a fuel pump in. I let car run for a hour after I did the pump a year ago, shut down and drove approx 20 miles and car just quit. Bought a new walboro pump and all this time.

Where is the 2 fuses. I'm only aware of 1 15a fuse under hood for ecu.

Do the same tests at the other three plugs.

Your last post clearly states that the pump doesn't run unless it is hot wired.

Fuse 14 (10A) and 37 (15A).

To get cell I have to figure out the switch again un did it. Its just 1 wire I hook to a switch? Its been a while.

OK, so far I got under dash and saw fuse 14 location blow .

It appears to be a alternator fuse. I replaced it. So far I have not gone further. I did tidy up some wires, cleaned all grounds.

Going to wait a little for a extra hand to arrive and determine if I have spark now durning cranking.


I did dig out my Honda/acura manual from 1994 and thought that the actual distributor may have failed. Not just the coil, or the ICM. But I'm thinking the small sensors inside to control #1 spark and fuel as well.

If the fuse 14 I discovered blown didn't fix, I should be on to sourcing a new TD44U distributor.

OK so after a while the car finally turned over. Loud click grind noise I neverheard before? Like flywheel??

Car runs for 30 seconds and than dies. If I throttle down it will run for a little longer.

Car shows cel 9 and 14.

9 the car always had a #9 code even after a rewire. Code 14 is IAC. I cleaned it and nothing happened.

Removed fuse to reset ecu. Nothing. Disconnect the plug while running, nothing happened.

Still throws code 14.

Flashes 9 times still real quick.

Even with a new dist. The car would always give me code 9.

So today I might go to a junk yard and look for a good condition PCV valve just for ***** and giggles. I have a little free time so I will make a attempt walk through the yard look for what I know I need and see how I make out. It might be worth a shot. My brother ALSO may have one.. not sure. I have to dig into some of his car surplus and see. Probably easier to go to a yard where there could be a few of them alone.

I already priced out a IAC and a cheap used one vary from $40-75 and a new one upward of $200.

This is a pretty good feeling as the car started and ran a little bit. It has been almost 1 year exactly and I have done nothing. Lost almost all interest in the vehicle as I thought I was completely overcome. Being it was colder out last year and weather turned that is mainly why I gave up. Could not play the work out side and diagnose game.

Measured the OHM on the IACV and it is 34 OHM. I read it supposed to be 15. Def. going to be getting a new iacv
