Ball joints wont get tight

Ball joints wont get tight
when I put my nuts back on my ball joints for the tie rod and the LCA they just spin, how do I get the nuts tight? do i need new joints?

You can sometimes use an impact and it will usually pull it down..
You can also try squeezing it into the joint with big channel-lock pliers..
Sometimes you can use to weight of the car to press it back together
and give it enough resistance to tighten it...
If the threads are messed up you can use
a tap/die size 12mm X 1.25mm to clean up the threads..

Look at the design of a ball joint, they are prone to spinning when they start to get minor play (nothing to be worried about, it's called getting worked in). If you have an impact, simply apply pressure with a pair of pliers to the join itself and tighten that nut on. I had to do that with a ball joint when I changed my driveshaft. The balljoint is still fine, and your should be to!

while the car is sitting on jackstands, i used a jack and jacked up the lower control arm that way the weight of the car shifts back to the suspension and your able to tighten the balljoints without it spinning....i never tried the clamp method..never even thought about it.
