Yes, it is a common problem and an easy fix. I wouldn't get a used one, as it is likely to have problems also. New ones are about $35-40. Or, if you know how to solder, you could fix it yourself with one of the DIY write-ups that you can find by searching.

Targa is correct solder it or buy new. Don't waste money at junkyard unless you absolutely have to.

Very easy install and you should pay approximately $40-$60 new.

Do it yourself, its simple.

If your sitting in your car, its on the kick panel right around where your left shin would be on the left side. You can pull back the plastic part of the interior just enough to see it. Do a search for pics so you know what it looks like.

Then one bolt and it pops out.

I took a solder iron and heated up each joint (carefully!) and applied just a touch of new solder to each joint. Technically you only need to do this to the dry joints to fix the problem but I did them all. Since then I have never had a starting issue.

you should just go to the dealer. if you find a parts store that carries it. they will just call up the dealer and make a lil profit.

99% of the time, its just a cold solder joint causing the problems. Problems which are usually limited to failure to start (no spark) when the interior is warm/hot.

That's a bit decieving. Took me more than gravity for it to 'pop out'... Happened to mine, re-soldered each joint quickly - no issues since.
