b18a1 swap crx backfiring and hesitating when at idling temperature
my car drives fine when cold but hesitates and backfires constantly when it's at idling temperature. what could the possible problems be? the fuel pressure regulator? any help appreciated.

Yes.
Code 1: Oxygen Content (o2 sensor)
Code 12: EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Lift Valve)
I will be installing a new ceramic header and a new o2 sensor when it arrives. However, I was told the car can run fine without the EGR. The EGR main purpose is just for emissions control, it shouldn't affect the performance. Is this right? I don't think I have the EGR hooked up.
The new parts installed were: New fuel filter, new distributor, new spark plugs and wires.
What are your recommendations?

i would say wait for your o2 to come in, install it and then see if it helps. i know when i hooked mine back up it cut back on a lot of backfiring.
