Default b-series hood clearance

Does anyone have any suggestions on some type of padding that I can mount on the inside of my hood to prevent from scratching my valve cover?

The part of my valve cover that is hitting is on the bottom left as if you were looking in front of the engine bay, below cylinder #4.

You could go ahead and cut out a little hole so that its not hitting right there...i imagine that if you glued anything on that it wouldnt last long if you open and close your hood alot. I dont know if you wanted to cut or not...this is just a suggestion. What kind of engine and mounts do you have? I have a b18a with hasport billets and i have plenty of room. Good luck.

jdm sir frontend conversion
convexed hood clears motor nicley, of carefully trim away the underside of the hood parts that touch the valve cover and use a heatgun to remove the glue holding it on.

Any type of pad you would put on ther, would just rub it still and rub away more paint or what not. Cut away some of the webbing for more room, get a ZC good, SiR hood or SiR 'style' hood.

If you don't have an Si, you could pick up the stock Si hood insulator
from a junkyard. Or honda dealer,$$$ from dealer though.
And get the clips for it too. Also $$$ from honda dealer.
The holes on the DX and Hf and EF hoods should already be there.
Junkyard or ebay is the best bet.
If you already have the stock insulator, just double it up.

How much do those things cost anyway?

Well, my Si came with one, never saw a reason for tearing it out, though.
And I got one from the junkyard for Free, I think. I can't remember.
From honda with the clips, I bet $80.00-$100.00 EASY.
