ATTARCO sucks!
Just wanted to share you my expierence with http://www.attarco.com they import all their engines from japan.
Ok so it started off i called in a day ahead and asked if they had any D15b forsale because i saw it on their website for $225.
When i got there to check it out he said $250, i told him i called earlier n it was $225 so he said ok. He showed me a d15, while i was looking at it he pulled it away from me n said it was sold.
So i look at the other 2 he had, there were a few things missing. The jdm head has a hole in it for oil to run through somewhere...... I was told to give him a call later and he'll give me the part number from "toyota dealership" that sells a plate to block it. Also if i had any other questions i should just give him a call. Before it was sold to me his mechanic did a laek down test for me, it ran about 180psi through the whole thing.
I got the engine home and in the car, it came with a jdm distributor but no cap or rotor. My previous engine was a DOHC ZC so the distributor didn't fit. I decided to give him a call and ask if he knew where i can order a cap n rotor for the distributor he gave me. He told me that theres nothing he can do about it, and to just use my stock one (he assumed i had a stock sohc). So he didn't even try to help me there.
I call him again a few days later, because theres a slight leak in the head gasket through one of the oil passages. I asked him to refund me for the money i spent on the headgasket. Since its not leaking from the cylinders it wasn't worth taking the engine out and turning it in for warranty. He told me that he will not do that, and i will have to take the engine out and give it back to him. *******!
If you ever deal with a guy juan make sure he does every test possible to the engine you are buying. His mechanic is a cool guy, i think the mechanic name was jose.

Re: ATTARCO sucks! (bcphatchback)
Many of these places don't warranty th ehead gasket..read the fine print. many expect you to pull it appart and do all the gaskets.....but a better shop would make it good if you approached them in a nice manner.
