So I'm about to trade my EG for a 1989 HF. As we all know, all US CRX's came with door mounted seatbelts except for the 88's and the 89 HF, which had pillar mounted belts.

My question: will 89-91 Si seats, which are different from the 88's, fit into an 89 HF?

I might buy a set of seats and the seller says that all 89-91 seats are the same. My feeling is that since EF seat fitment is usually determined by seatbelt config (the seats changed in '90 for hatch, sedan, wagovan), wouldn't the 89 HF seats be equivalent to the pillar belt 88 Si/DX/HF? and thus, the 89-91 CRX seats wouldn't fit. Or maybe all 89-91 CRX's have the same seat mounting regardless and I'm full of crap.

Just keep in mind that the bolt points on the seat rails may be different. I pulled another seat to put into my EF and the rails did not match up. I had to get metal from home depot to make custom brackets.

It was a full afternoon drilling the holes to match up the bolt pattern. Just make sure you double check before you start drilling to make new adapter brackets. I had to make a 2nd trip to home depot cuz I ruined one.

no, i own both 88 and 89 hf right now and they are identical. beside the rear LCA that is.
