I have a 87 SI 5 speed CRX. I just bought the car for $150 and it needs a computer. What computers will work on this car and does anyone have one for sale that will work. This is the first honda that I have ever owned so excuse me if I sound stupid about all this. IF anyone can help please let me know. thanks

Re: 87 CRX computer Question (DieMaster)
the car was is a flood. everything works. car turns over. it has compression. the water was in the floor board and got to the computer. plus there is this purple wire that is no contected to the computer. the computer is all corroded. so a computer is what I think I need, but like I said im new to honda's.

Re: 87 CRX computer Question (flatblkCR-X)
You need an '85-'87 CRX Si or Civic Si ECU, *OR* you can use an '86 or '87 Integra 5-speed ECU. The 'Teg ECU will tend to make the car run a little rich below about 4000rpm, though, but it CAN be an improvement if you're planning on hopping the car up at all. For just a basic replacement that'll get it going again, the Civic/CRX ECU is the way to go. Shouldn't be more than about $50-75 at a junkyard.

Re: 87 CRX computer Question (Kwicko)
I heard that the only motor swap you can do on the 87 is a ZC swap. I heard a can swap other motors like that b16 and stuff in there but its really expensive to do. I was told that the ZC motors just drop right in. what kinda swap can I do to it that will not me a crap load of trouble.

Re: 87 CRX computer Question (vaspeedjunky)
1G Integra Motors (not necessarily ZC) will give you the least hassle. Try the ECU first though.
