Re: 1989 Honda Civic Si USDM Restore
Hopefully enthusiasts can save even the rust free cars out west, over here in northeastern Canada there's nothing left at all in terms in nice EFs, only a few that have been fixed up and maintained throughout the years. So much rust it's unreal, we have long winters and the roads get salted.
It's to the point where we're now having a hard time finding any 92-00 models without rotten 1/4's, same thing with integras from any year now, which is even worse since there are no aftermarket wheels arch replacements available.
I love seeing threads like this because I know in 10 years from now, these cars will start to gain in value, I have no doubt about it, especially where I'm from. We'll be crossing the boarder to bring them back here since we'll have none left.

Re: 1989 Honda Civic Si USDM Restore
I was at a junkyard one day and while skimming through the rows I noticed one of the audio equalizers in a sedan. Sadly I just kept walking for some reason. I was like "Oh, that's weird, I've never seen that before, must be nothing." Doo-da-doo. I found out about an hour later what it was.

I think people make those equalizers to be more rare then they really are. They came in different model Hondas.

Yes it does still work we hooked it up and it lit up. Kinda cool, I just need to decide what style factory radio to put back in in.

The plugs are different for 99+ I used to run a CRV radio in my old civic because it lights up amber. For this car I'm thinking original but I do want a cd player...

very nice keep up the great work. so nice to see the same car i have being kept original. i understand these are rare cars thats why im keeping all my original parts. altough i do like to modify but nothing more than suspension and a nice pair of wheels.

Nothing wrong with that. I might eventually track down another set of Mugen wheels or two in the future just to have some more

I like the OEM exhaust. I almost went that path, but I couldn't pass up the HKS sport. I know what you mean about preservation, as with mine, there were minor things that needed to replaced with new OEM parts, but for the most part the car was mint. Literally. I am glad that a few of us still value new, original, oem goodness. Can't ever go wrong with that. I can't wait to see where the market is in 10-15 years!

Do you have 2 pairs? If not what are you going to put in there?
p.s. Can you let your buddy know I tried to PM him, but I haven't gotten a response yet. Thanks!

I'll give him a call. So far with the 89' Si seats there are two drivers seats, a mint passenger, and two complete rears.

Ordered some rare discontinued bnib parts yesterday, some I picked up and I'm waiting for the other to ship. Updates soon.

Re: 1989 Honda Civic Si USDM Restore
Most of the parts that I find are from peoples personal collections or oldstock from different warehouses.
Todays update:
Finally installed my armrest
Installed my 89' rear mudflaps
Detailed the interior
Waxed the outside
Special ordered some custom reproduction Civic floormats
Started work on restoring two more 89' SI seats
Last week I picked up a BNIB OEM 88-91 rear speaker kit and some BNIB 92-95 floormats
I was also hoping to get my Civic car cover shipped but it went MIA before hand. Talked to the guy on saturday and he had a BNIB OEM SH3 car cover for 88-91 civic hb, I paid for it but then today I was refunded my money and turns out the cover is now missing...
To Do:
Install my brand new Honda Muffler
Install my 89-91 Si hubcaps
Install an OEM radio
