Re: **the official ef suspension thread**
I'll play.
Ground control's w/ 450fr/500rr springs on tokico illuminas, homemade extended top hats front, hf front sway, st rear. No camber ajustment in the front, ingalls adjustable upper arms in the rear. A little tail happy for the street but works well on track(at my noobish level).

Sorry, I thought answering tech related questions would help the thread. or
Depends on how you intend to use your car. For a dd street car, front biased rates are great, for track duty rear biased is where its at.
450 in the front? I am not sure about this but it should be 500fr and 450rr?

Re: **the official ef suspension thread**
ah nice. yeah i personally want to go super slammed, but then again my gf drives my car a lot too so that would probably be a bad idea hahah. What size wheels and tires are you using? right now im rolling some 15's with 205/50/15s and they're rubbing the crap out of my fenders. need to roll them soon!
But yeah, im sure this is going to feel way better than riding around on blown struts in the rear with cut springs and no bump stops haha. such a terrible ride! Im getting the ground controls for 70$ plus it comes with stock struts that ill use for a bit until i can afford some decent ones.
ps: your car is super clean ^^ hope mine can be as clean some day.

btw if you have cut springs on stock shocks, you better not have bump stops!! I bought a 95 coupe with stock shocks and Dropzone coilovers in the back, and it had the FULL bumpstop on it. It was bouncy as all hell because the shocks had no travel at all. The stock shocks can't dampen that anyway, but the bump stops are just another handicap.

I'm running 14x6 +38 with 185/60/14 and I have no rubbing issues whatsoever, plenty of room. I have another set in my garage that's 15x7 +35 but I'll need to roll my fenders in order to put those on, so I guess that tells you how close I am.

haha yeah no bumpstops here, i wouldve left them in but they were so old and wornout it seemed like they were made out of styrofoam, they just fell apart! so i threw em away.

Re: **the official ef suspension thread**
do you guys think i would be okay running ground controls on my stock struts for awhile?
i have an ef sedan that is begging to be lowered. would it still look good with stock struts?
check my sig for pics of my car. need to get rid of those rims as well.

Ok, you guys asked for it, and here it is. The official EF Suspension Thread. Rules for this thread are going to be simple.
1. None of the, "hey this is my car, what do you think" kind of pics, take it to the a/c forum.
2. No bickering, fighting, flaming, or downing of other peoples car's. If you don't like it, don't comment. If you do have a disagreement, make it worthwhile. Don't make yourself look like an idiot. You will be reported!
3. This thread must contain some tech also. If you have a request for a certain setup, ask. But do not keep "bumping" the thread, I am sure someone, somewhere, will have the setup you seek.
4. If you like somone else's setup, thats cool. PLEASE don't quote pictures just to say, "nice" or "sexy" its pointless, and wastes other people's time.
5. Please limit your pictures to around 3 or so. We don't need to see the same car, with the same stance a dozen times. Its pointless to see what each body panel looks like with springs underneath, .
6. Have fun, and enjoy the pics!!
If the rules stated above are not followed, I will request this thread to be locked. So, now that we have some ground rules, LET'S SEE SOME LOWERED EF'S!!!

This is definitely not a suspension thread. It appears to be a photo/appearance thread with hardly any technical info at all. Good Luck

Re: **the official ef suspension thread**
Lowered is lowered. It doesn't matter if you cut the springs, use airbags, hydraulics, or buy $2000 coilovers. From the outside, your car still looks the same. In other words, you can use the stock shocks, and it will look identical to if you used Koni Yellows. But keep in mind the stock ride height of your sedan and how soft the springs/shocks are. How much do you plan on dropping it? The stock shocks are only meant to dampen soft springs at the stock height...once you start lowering it more than an inch or put some stiffer springs on, you'll run into severe dampening problems. If you lower it the necessary 3 or so inches to remove fender gap, and you're still running stock shocks, the ride is going to be absolutely atrocious. Tell your male friends to pad their asses and your female friends to hold their ****, it's gonna be a bouncy ride...

Re: **the official ef suspension thread**
i agree. i've seen some gr2's last a while on different setups. i know, its ebay but...if you read some of the descriptions, they claim to be acceptable for lowered cars. now, if they weren't ok for lowered cars, they would be making false claims and i don't think they would be in business too long. as for using them, i'd rather use tokico blues, they cost about the same for a set of 4, and are made for lowered cars.

Before (Tokico Illum [blown]+ Ground Control Coilovers)
After (Brand new OEM Strut/Springs)
Opposite I know, but its definitely more comfy and its seems high but nothing has settled yet.
