you should be fine. from what i've read and heard about the s- techs is that they are very easy on the stock shocks. i havn't heard of anyone resulting in blown shocks from s-techs.

Whats the drop on S-techs?
Either way if youre dropping your car than youre a lot more likely to blow them. They can last though depending how good of condition they are now and how you drive.

Re: (iVteC_PoWeR)
I've had S-techs on my old EH and they rode nice. From what i remember. S-techs are made to ride fine with stock shocks. they say its around 1.5-2" drop

ive been running megan racing springs for 2 years with stock struts on my 95 coupe. rides great. the S Techs arent very much of a drop tho. its a great spring but most people i know arent happy with them once theyre on the car. if you want to go really low id look into megan racing, or eibach or something.

i went from kyb agx/h&r sport springs to stech/stock strut
the stech and h&r sport have the same drop height, and they both rode/ride great..

Why not just wait a bit and get new struts instead of half assing it?
I'm running KYB GR2s with Neuspeed springs.

if your stock struts are good theres no need to replace them. its not half assing anything. unless your goin to a more aggressive strut of better response and handling, theres no reason to waste money. if theyre bad use oem. struts are struts and theyre not made just because a car is lowered. they are made for performance or oem replacement. nothing else.

If not getting new shocks is halfassing it then why dont we all just get a set of coilovers and quit halfassing it with lowering springs.

Re: would it hurt my car??? (HarfordCTR)
My eg hatch came with Tein S-Techs on stock shocks when I bought it. They're a 1.5" drop, but I'm wanting to upgrade to full coilovers. The stock shocks are still too spungy for my taste, but to answer your question, they work fine with them.
Full coilovers are more cost effective, as aftermarket shocks (good ones, Koni) are expensive, plus this way you can adjust your ride height, which I haven't ever had the pleasure of doing. Coilovers
