No, not the vacuum hose, there are two wires, a green, and a red, they run from the drivers side harness leg, and connect into the lid of the brake booster resovior.

They are for your brake light. There is a little float inside the cap of the resevior and when that hits the bottom it turns on your brake light telling you you're fucked. (no brake fluid)

Somewhat true, but the light should come on when the fluid is about half way down the reservoir to let you know if you don't do something you will be fucked.
