Yes it will, although you will need to get an ex or si cat and you will also need to lengthen your secondary o2 sensor harness.
The y7 cat is actually in the header so that's why you need a ex style cat.
And also the ones on ebay are not cats, they're testpipes so try and find a used one.

exactly. also when you go to get a catback(assuming you dnt have one already.) it will have to be for a ex.

Are you sure? I keep hearing about this but I would think that the ex coupe exhaust would have to be longer than the dx hatch and on the hatch it would stick out too much........
I have a dx hatch and I had an apexi n1 before I did the header and I just took my car to a muffler shop and they just cut the middle pipe of my exhaust to make it fit and bolt up.
^^^^ forgot to mention that in my earlier post. Whoops.

Re: will the d16y8 header fit the y7??? (WildPig)
Well the reason why i stated this is just so that its easier to install. As in your case they had to modify your exhuast to work with the rest. But if you go all ex then you would be fine. In the case of the hatches, It would have to be modified no matter what. Unless you got everything from a Y7, i.e. header, and exhuast.

Gotcha........ so it is how I thought, if you have a dx hatch then you can't get an ex exhaust to make it easier, you have to modify your dx exhaust.

this is onbly the case with the Hatch not the coupe. Since the hatch dose not have the vtec motor. But with coupes you just get all ex stuff.

Placing the Y8 header on the y7 head will delete the cat and bolt up to your cat back piping.
If you must add a cat, by a ex exhaust catback, or shorter your current one and add a cat.

Get some wire from napa or somewhere and cut your o2 sensor harness wires before the plug and splice and solder in the new wires and that extends it.

It will delete the cat, but throw a code, make you run rich and also pollute and smell like ****. Trust me, get an ex cat and do it right.

I heard the secondary o2 doesn't do anything rather than monitor the exhaust after it goes through the cat. Even though it throws a cel it does not modify the ecu settings.
I am in the process of doing this modification on my y7/y8 mini me setup. I have an oem y8 exhaust manifold and oem si cat on their way and when I get them I will go to a muffler shop and have them cut my stock b-pipe and weld a new 3-bolt flange on it so I can utilize the standard cat. Then I'm going to extend my o2 sensor wires.

Only if you had a 2/4 door. But the hatches exhaust is different. Especially your's which has already been modified.
