For a carbon fiber hood, treat it like it was a boat .... because it's made like one. It's gelcoated, not clearcoated.
Get some marine wax (meguiars in a blue bottle) for it, and put on a nice coat. Should help protect it.

well, to be honest MOST hoods are clear coated not gel coated. They do clear because most companies can not shoot a gel coat in the mold and lay a part without getting TONS of tiny air bubbles so they just make a fiberglass hood and overlay it with carbon and then clear coat it. Your remedy to this is either vacuum bagging or infusion, which most companies do not do because of the higher manufacturing cost, and it takes a really skilled/trained worker.

ehh.. thanks for the reply, but i guess it wont matter too much for me. cause my hood is already getting warped and ugly from the sun and heat from the previous summers. im gonna get a repaint on the whole car sometime and im most likey gonna buy a new hood. so im not gonna worry about it too much. but thanks again guys.

Well when you buya new hood have it scuffed and re-cleared just to add a bit more protection and a deeper shine

i live in canada and i had my hood through the winter, the only mistake i made was using the snow brush on it to brush off the snow; i found that it left a lot of fine scratches, but it was barely noticeable (only at certain angles)
