Why do my EG tail lights stay on????
Like the title says, my eg tail lights stay on. The only way for me to turn them off is to remove the fuse for these. Does anyone have any idea why this happens and/or how to correct this?? I am rebuilding this car after it was stripped.
Anyways, I want to correct all the minor flaws it currently has. Thanks in advance.

they stay on when you turn the car off and remove the key?
sounds like the wire that supplies power to the running light portion of the bulbs is shorted out to +12v. or it was mistakenly hooked up to a non-switched power source
edit: +12v, not ground. proofreading ftw

IF IT IS THE BRAKE LIGHTS,THEN LOOK UNDER THE DASH AND YOU WILL SEE THE BRAKE PEDAL ,THERE IS A RUBBER STOPPER ON THERE THAT PUSHES A SWITCH AND IF THAT RUBBER STOPER IS MISSING THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF. THIS HAPPEND TO ME AND NOBODY COULD GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER SO I LOOKED FOR MY SELF.
QUICK FIX: INSTALL A NUT AND BOLT WHERE THAT STOPPER USED TO BE AND THAT WILL DO IT

Thanks everyone for your input. The one that makes the most sense at this point, per my observations, is...
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by smokee »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">sounds like the wire that supplies power to the running light portion of the bulbs is shorted out to +12v. or it was mistakenly hooked up to a non-switched power source</TD></TR></TABLE>
Reason being is I am missing a few switches in my car, such as one of the two pin connectors for my wipers and the light switch. Does anyone think this might be it?
anotheredhatch, thanks for your input as well. I can tell you it's not my break lights so that rules this out. This is one of the things I checked first because I switched out my pedals myself.

Re: (Short Fuse)
By the way, I forgot to mention one minor detail, I removed my airbag wiring and cannot remember if it began to do this before or after I had removed it. I actually went psycho on my car and removed the dash board, all of the under dash harnesses, and pedals. Pretty much there was nothing in my ride for a while.....
Might this be a factor???
