When car is on, and I steer right or left, I can hear a squeak.
So there it is, there is a small problem.
Car: 1995 Honda Civic Coupe DX
Suspension: KYB AGX w/ Eibach Sportline
Mileage: 188,xxx
When my car is on (or even when its been running a while and turned off), and I turn the steering wheel; It will squeak going left or right. I am getting pretty frustrated. Ive replaced both tie rods, upper and lower ball joint (even the whole upper arm) and Ive greased up all moving parts.
P.S. I've been contemplating on emptying out the fluid and replacing it with clean fluid.
Could it be my power steering rack is going out? What should I do?
TIA,
Jon
UPDATE 4/22/08
Narrowed down the problem.
- Car has new tires
- Been to the suspension shop for an alignment
The car only pulls when accelerating or keeping the gas on the car. I think I may have a worse problem with the transmission or possibly just the axles.
I dont know though

check your power steering fluid level and pump first. 3/4 of the time thats what causes your car to squeak when you turn the wheel.

Re: When car is on, and I steer right or left, I can hear a squeak. (mafioso619)
*UPDATE*
So, the power steering fluid was changed and tightened up the belt.
The squeak only occurs when:
- Car has been running quite a bit
- turning left or right from the steering wheels' center position (about 90 degrees)
- DOES NOT squeak when fully turned left or fully turned right
HELPPPPPP!
TIA,
Jon

hmm, could be your CV joints are bad - if that is the case, just buy a complete axle for the car..a lot cheaper and a lot easier to replace.
and i think if the rack was going bad it would make it a lot harder to steer the car

The CV axles were just replaced 3 weeks ago (no clicking when turning, only some kind of a sharp clunk (only once) from the passenger side area when making a hard left and accelerating).
CV axles are just the general Kragen/Autozone ones, they are lifetime warranty so its not bad and im not pushing an insane amount of HP.
Any others?

I am pretty sure it is not the wheel bearings. Actually I dont know what wheel bearing would have to do with it. The Power steering rack only makes the squeaking noise (after the car has been running) when the car is turned off or turned on.
Geez I hope its not an internal part.

I am in the same boat as you!

Narrowed down the problem.
