What are those pins that go into the crown nuts?

Default What are those pins that go into the crown nuts?

Hey does anyone know what the name of those pins that goes into the side of ball joints is called? I think it started with a C... Anyway, where can I find them and does anyone have the honda part number or can i get it at autoshop?

They are called "Cotter Pins". When you replace them, bring the old one into the autoparts store so you can get the same size. They come in many sizes!

p.s. the "crown nuts" are called Castle nuts, and the cotter pins go through the...um...well it looks like a square wave, and the...well its visually self explanitory. ****, im at a loss for words.

FACKIN SHAT.. I threw mine away because they were so mangled up from trying to remove them.... Does anyone know the size I need for the Lower Ball Joint and the Tie Rod ones?

you can find assorted cotter pins at kragen, auto zone etc

3/32x at least an inch... too long doesn't matter. these should be replaced every time you remove them. don't make curly cues out of the ends and they'll be easier to remove...

They shouldn't be re-used. Go to your parts store, they have tons of them and their cheap. It's pretty much a universal fit for most things.

they sell boxes of assorted sizes.
Just throw a mangled paper clip in there or something as a temp fix and then get some replacements...no biggie
