SI Fuel pump
Anyone know exactly what the 99-00 Civic SI fuel pump delivers in comparison to the EX?
I have heard 139lph... on the SI, and 79lph on the EX.
Any ideas?

That is correct. Personally, I would just get a Walbro though. They are like $90.

Everything that increases performance is noisy in some way. It just adds to the fun, IMO.

How have you guys determined the flow rates of these pumps?
Aftermarket pumps show the same part number for both vehicles...

They do because they're interchangeable.
Therefore, they would sell the same aftermarket pumps for each vehicle.
Aftermarket parts don't reflect the OEM parts.

Re: SI Fuel pump (Ricey McRicerton)
yeah...but, wouldn't that mean they have chosen one flow rate and built a pump to fit both.... I would have to assume they have built one with the flow rate of an SI. However, I still would like to see something showing me the flow rate specifications of the OEM pumps for both. Honda has been no help, so I am looking for another source to validate my findings before I buy the SI pump for my EX.

Apparently you're not understanding what I'm saying.
Okay, both pumps are almost identical, and will bolt into the other. Since the aftermarket fuel pumps are almost al 190 or 255lph, they would not make a smaller pump for the EX or a larger pump for the SI. They would make two, one that flows 190 and one that flows 255. They are interchangeable. I promise.

dont want to ***** your post man but.....
I am confused about this too? I have a b16 in my 92 civic hatch. and i am wondering if i throw in a dohc vtec (GSR or SI) fuel pump. Will it help me out as far as power goes? I heard that it will help out in top end power.

Re: SI Fuel pump (Ricey McRicerton)
I understand they are interchangable....
Maybe I am missing the point here ( you can call me thick, it's ok).
You are saying the aft. mkt. will have a higher flow rate than OE and the same pump is for both.... but I am saying how can determine the flow rates of the factory pumps? What do you care... buy the aft. mkt., right? We'll I have a chance to get a SI pump for dirt cheap and if I can verify the flow is better, I'll get it.
Thanks for the input Ricey... It is very much appreciated.

Re: SI Fuel pump (dimotorsports)
I promise you the SI is a 135lph.
The SI, ITR, and GSR used the 135lph.
The D series cars and the LS got the 79lph.
EDIT: I honestly can't remember where I read it, but I swear it's the truth.
If the ITR can flow its 200 hp on 135lph fuel pump and the same 240cc injectors as a SI, it's good enough for most people on here.

It will only help you out if your starving your motor for fuel. I'd say add it and it can't hurt. Hell I've seen them go for like 30-35 bucks.

Re: SI Fuel pump (Ricey McRicerton)
That's cool....
I believe you...
With the my current build, I am looking to add a bit more fuel, and I came accross a killer deal on the SI pump, so....I just wanted to verify the flow before going through the trouble of swapping it.
D16y8
Zex 105300 Satge 2 cam
Zex 55hp shot
Eagle H-beam Rods
JE SRP 10.5:1 pistons
She runs pretty stong, and is not fully broken in.
The larger pump would be nicer.

Re: SI Fuel pump (dimotorsports)
With that 55 shot I would possibly check into the 190 or 255. They are only like 90 bucks. If you got a good deal on the SI, I say go for it.

More fuel does not always equal more power.
If you are leaning out up top... maybe.
But, I am in the same boat as you, and am trying to decide whether to swap in the SI pump.

Yes. You *MAY* want to get another gasket around the base of the fuel tank cover, as if it rips you're going to be in a bind.
