What is a good product to use on rust?
I'm going to be heading out and getting my disc conversion from a parts teg a few hours away but I know the calipers, rotors, bolts and whatnot are rusted good. Is there any product that will help penetrate rust???
I thought of using brake fluid on bolts but not too sure if that's a good idea or if it will do anything.
let me know
thanks

PB blaster works well especially on rusted bolts and screws, and i've used Naval Jelly before and it works very well....i dont know if I'd use rusted rotors that are pretty rough, it might be easier to replace them, but the rest shoudl do fine with naval jelly or PB blaster

PB works great as said above to remove rusted bolts. If you look around at many auto/hardware stores, like advance auto parts they sell the duplicolor brand, there is spray paint that turns rust into black paintable primer. use that then u can sand and smooth and do a nice paint job to show off your conversion.

Thanks man. I'm not using the rotos because of them being so rusted but I just want to be able to undo the bolts that are holding the calipers.
That's why I'm going to pretty much take everything appart and clean it.
thanks for those products I'll check them out

You can't go wrong with Naval jelly on surfaces, thats how I did touch up paint, and PB blaster, I always carry a can in my junkyard toolbox

first use a bench table steel brush if avalible, then find some stuff called
corrosionX. this stuff works as a lube and a rust resistor( i cant spell) depends on the type you get
