Default What CV Joints Do I Need????????

I need help, a have a 96 ex coupe with a jdm b16 swap in it, probably a 2nd gen b16.... when i first had the swap done i had trouble with the cv the passenger side cv joint popping out of the tranny, the guy who did the swap (considered a trusted friend back then) tried to figure out the problem but he couldnt get it.... then he moved out of town, so i was on my own.... i took it to a local shop and they were able to get it to stop popping out of my tranny but my steering wheel would jerk when i would turn on a dead stop and there was a popping sound coming from beneath the car, around the tranny and cv joints (cv joints were new).... it was like that for about a year or more since i would just use the car to go to work and to school but then my trann fucked up, it wouldnt go into gear at all, not even by trying to force it in.... so i took again to a better known shop here locally and the mechanic told me i needed a new tranny, i bought a b16 tranny from a 99-00 si and some cv joints from a 95 civic del sol dohc vtec non abs, the mechanic says that the tranny is in good condition, the driver side cv joint went in but the passenger side cv joint is too short, he says it needs to be about 3 inches longer, he says that whoever i took it to before forced the cv joint to work with the old tranny, and thats what messed up my old tranny....... i dont know what cv joints i need, should i try the 99-00 si cv joint, but isnt this cv joint for abs only????????? sorry for the long right up, but i need this figured out...... any help is greatly appreciated..........

the only thing that makes it abs is the ring that can be knocked off, the only axles you can't use are the left side da's from what i know..just get 94 and up teg axles should work fine

If he truly has dohc delsol axles I dont understand why he would need new ones...is it just me. They should be the same ones as the integras being mentioned 94-up.

Sometimes it is just a bitch to get it in that last inch or so and as far as tapping the abs ring off, just leave it on itll work with it there. A trick I had to use on one of my civics was once it was in the tranny all the way and in the hub as far as you can get it, turn the steering wheel all the way right (to do passenger side) and hit the rotor with a ruber mallet to get it the last inch or so. It also helps to maybe wire brush the splines of rust and put a little lube on them. Dont ask me why the turning works, it just seems isolate the joint better. If you can get it to the point of the threads sticking out enough for the axle nut an impact wrench can finish it too.

I cant remember specifically if the lower ball joint needs to be out, I believe so and also the shocks bottom fork disconnected from the lower arm.
