Vtech/Air fuel controller
i have pretty much a stock 99 civic si only with a AEM CAI, DC sport 4-1 headers and a high flow cat. So i have a vtech/air fuel controller but uninstalled yet. I already know about the vtech and how i could i adjust it but just want to know how much gain will i get with the air fuel controller?

1. i'm not going to be a dick about your ignorance.
2. i doubt you actually know how to adjust the crossover point.
3. you're actually losing power with that afc.
4. if you were smart, you'd ditch it and get hondata s2/300
5. be smart and get hondata.

Re: Vtech/Air fuel controller (gsr x civic)
If you have a stock motor there is no such thing as a magic program that adds horsepower.
Your b16 with bolt ons will see no benefit from fuel/air adjustment.
Get a turbo or swap out that 1.6L for something bigger.

i hope you don't think it's actually called the hondata s2/300. in my initial post, i was only referring to it as the hondata s2/300 in implication that there are 2 versions, the hondata s200, and the hondata s300. the s200 is obviously the previous gen before the s300. but the new version of the s200 tuning software is much like the s300 non-upgraded tuning software.
and it's not an automatic "plug it in and make horsepower". you will need to get a chipped p28 ecu and get a real good tuner. the tuner is what makes the power, not the parts, to an extent.

first statement is true. second statement is false.
on a full bolt on gsr i made an extra 20whp adjusting timing, af's, and changing the crossover point with hondata.
and for the third statement, we don't all have money to throw toward a swap and ****. i'd say just work with what you got. my cousin just made 200whp on his d16y8 with a 15g kit. talk abuot a good tune suprdave ftmfw!

wtf are you talking about, *******?
having a honda is a good enough reason for hondata.

See, if you had cams I could certainly believe that. All the other mods weren't making for more air, they were just making the current available air less restrictive.
Even mild cams need a good tune to get the full potential. Because when you change valve lift duration you directly affect how much air goes in and our of the cylinder.

i think a 20whp gain from i/im/h/e, tb, and cam gears with a great tune is believable. thats ~170whp? most setups i see with 170whp+ setups do at least have ctr cams but i wouldnt call BS on his setup.

Just bolt ons, it's questionable. </TD></TR></TABLE>
but see, i never stated my overall power. i just stated that i made an extra 20whp. could my car have been running like ****? yes. in fact, it was.
and my overall power was 172 / 131 after the tune.
