Default Vtech/Air fuel controller

i have pretty much a stock 99 civic si only with a AEM CAI, DC sport 4-1 headers and a high flow cat. So i have a vtech/air fuel controller but uninstalled yet. I already know about the vtech and how i could i adjust it but just want to know how much gain will i get with the air fuel controller?

Sell it. VTEC controllers are for highly modded Motors. Honda set VTEC at a certain RPM for a reason.

1. i'm not going to be a dick about your ignorance.
2. i doubt you actually know how to adjust the crossover point.
3. you're actually losing power with that afc.
4. if you were smart, you'd ditch it and get hondata s2/300
5. be smart and get hondata.

well it's just like when you're ******* setting rules for your girlfriend and ****, set em straight once and make it harsh so you won't have to repeat yourself. lol.

by being harsh it in a way makes them feel like a ******* bitch and makes them want to research and learn more so that they don't sound like a fuckass in the long run when they ask questions - if they're serious about this and not some punk *** kid who thinks vtec controllers make mAd tYte jDm pOwAAAA y0!!!

If you have a stock motor there is no such thing as a magic program that adds horsepower.

Your b16 with bolt ons will see no benefit from fuel/air adjustment.

Get a turbo or swap out that 1.6L for something bigger.

i hope you don't think it's actually called the hondata s2/300. in my initial post, i was only referring to it as the hondata s2/300 in implication that there are 2 versions, the hondata s200, and the hondata s300. the s200 is obviously the previous gen before the s300. but the new version of the s200 tuning software is much like the s300 non-upgraded tuning software.

and it's not an automatic "plug it in and make horsepower". you will need to get a chipped p28 ecu and get a real good tuner. the tuner is what makes the power, not the parts, to an extent.

first statement is true. second statement is false.

on a full bolt on gsr i made an extra 20whp adjusting timing, af's, and changing the crossover point with hondata.

and for the third statement, we don't all have money to throw toward a swap and ****. i'd say just work with what you got. my cousin just made 200whp on his d16y8 with a 15g kit. talk abuot a good tune suprdave ftmfw!

youll definitely get the most out of your mods from tuning but IMO bolt ons arent a good enough reason for a hondata. boost it...

j's racing intake, greddy 4-2-1, p28 chipped ecu with hondata s200, skunk2 intake manifold, itr throttle body. i think i may have had cam gears at the time, but i can't recall.

edit: lol totally forgot about my exhaust. i had a 5zigen full 2.5 exhaust and no cat. the gsr was in a civic btw, if you couldn't tell from my name.

See, if you had cams I could certainly believe that. All the other mods weren't making for more air, they were just making the current available air less restrictive.

Even mild cams need a good tune to get the full potential. Because when you change valve lift duration you directly affect how much air goes in and our of the cylinder.

i think a 20whp gain from i/im/h/e, tb, and cam gears with a great tune is believable. thats ~170whp? most setups i see with 170whp+ setups do at least have ctr cams but i wouldnt call BS on his setup.

With cams I would certainly believe it.

Just bolt ons, it's questionable.

but see, i never stated my overall power. i just stated that i made an extra 20whp. could my car have been running like ****? yes. in fact, it was.

and my overall power was 172 / 131 after the tune.
