video inside: sometimes runs rich after shifting. FIXES ITSELF IN 5TH GEAR?
92 civic obd1 b18c turbo
heres the situation. car idle good. goes through 1st fine and when i shift into second i start running very rich. doesn't matter if its an easy take off or kind of hard it will stay rich until i shift into 5th.
i noticed if i slip the clutch and keep the rpms up during a shift it seems to help it from going rich. i thought maybe the rocking of the motor during a shift was causing the problem but often times i can make a WOT run with much harder shifts than normal driving and it wont run rich.
anyways heres a video of it. (didnt start running rich until i shifted into third this time.)

I HAVE CHECKED ALL MY WIRING TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND CANT FIND ANYTHING.

lol...that would be the tune.
vacuum/boost in the tables and fuel in the tables can be wherever.
what are you using for tuning software?

unfortunatly crome. my tuner has tuned many cars in my area with much success. i keep telling him to check again and again for errors but he says he doesnt see anything.
ill just forward all the info i get here to him so the closer the pinpoint the better.
illgarage and profunction in chicago believe it to be a software error.

ya as much as crome is like highly it still has bugs.
maybe he should redownload crome and do a fresh base map and tune again for free..?

ill talk to him. i was asking him what actually causes this kind of problem?
what i mean is, if he were to retune from scratch, he would end up putting in most of the same data again, correct? how would that fix anything?

nobody else has any input? agree/disagree or anything to add.
i will try data logging for the first time today and try and take a freeze frame of when its running good and when its running bad and post them on here if possible.
look for them tonight

I placed a copy of your thread in the Engine Management and Tuning subforum in an attempt to get you additional feedback there.

ended up being a tuning issue. neither me or the tuner are exactly sure what fixed it but he only made a few very small changes and he was very surprised when those little changes fixed the problem. i know he changed the values in a handful of cells and he changed some fuel multiplier by .05.
