Just a fact of life some people are larger then others

This is just a guess but from what I understand they are a hydrolic piston that locks the higher cam profiles so bigger engine larger Solenoid ... I could be way off though ... thats justa guess

Word, bigger cams = more pressure needed to switch over to vtec = bigger solenoid.

The b16 needs more oil to move the cams where its a smaller head.

are we talking from forst to second? or b16a to gsr? maybe in time when technology caught up, they figured the duty cycle one them and could go down a little in size?

On 1st gen JDM b16a the VTEC solenoid is huge, way bigger than both of those. I have been trying to figure it out myself.

B19civicHB has a d15 vtec-e engine solenoid on his built JDM GSR engine and it works like a champ. As long as it fits, it'll work fine.

It fits? The solenoids are interchangable from D-series to B-series?
