Default Turbo EK wont pass smog

I haven't taken the car to get inspected yet, but I know it will not pass emissions. It is probably running rich because I have bigger injectors, and the timing is advanced, but the question I ask is if I change the spark plugs, and run spark plugs that run hotter, will that make a difference? And if I also put my stock injectors back on. The car does have a catalytic converter on. I need the car to pass inspection with a green sheet in order to get it registered in Texas. It is from New Mexico, and there they do not require the car to pass smog.

i would go get a basline tune chip burnt that chokes the entire car back.... thats about the only way your gonna get a turbo honda to pass from my experiences but thats where i live in MD.... is there any chance you could "unturbo" it for a weekend(just a thought...i know some cars cannot be without an extensive re-tune)

I have seriously considered doing this but I don't really want to have to go through the trouble of taking all the parts off and then having to re tune the car to get it to run like it is stock. I have a Greddy Emanage piggyback ECU. I know the timing is advanced, but I was thinking I could maybe retard the timing.

if you dont know how... find a shop that does....unless you have extensive kowledge of tuning you can detrimentally **** your car up just by tweaking things you think might not be significant

True, very small things can really make a difference in the way your car runs. I don't have the finances available at the moment to do much with the car.

you might just consider waiting till the last few days....going....failing...and getting an extension it usually gives you a couple extra months to sort it out

or...get a waiver....a shop receipt showing (in my state)$750 in repairs to fuel/air/emissions components then your exempt until its time to go again

I have to have it inspected, because it is an out of state title I am trying to transfer it into my name in Texas. I know there is a program called AirCheckTexas here where if my car fails, I can apply to get basically a grant to fix anything emission related thats causing the car to fail, valued up to 600 dollars.

You'll have to get it retuned. You need to check in either the Forced Induction or Engine Management & Tuning forums to see if someone can guide you how to even out that tune. From what I understand the Emanage isn't that hard to get familiar with. It's also NOT very popular.

And there's always Google.

ditch that emanage BS and get a chipped ecu and a good tune.. it should pass just fine.. and if texas is like most states, if your car is OBD2 they will just plug into the scanner port and check for CEL's ... thats it..

Keep talking like that and you'll probably get banned. At the very least get this thread locked.
