I know the subject of filling the transmission has been covered before, and I have done a search on the subject, but I still can't find the dang tranny fill hole on the D16Y8. Its an automatic, '00 Civic EX. I slid up under the car tonight and located the drain plug but could not find the fill hole. I understand you can fill it from the top of the tranny but I still need to take the fill hole plug out in order to see if the correct amount is in. Thanks in advance guys.

lol sad but true only way is the dipstick hole unless you feel rambuncious and want to seperate the tranny from the engine... GL

Automatics have dipsticks to check the level. There is usually a hot and a cold level and the car usually has to be running.

plz turn off trial user

with an automatic fill while running in park, well fter u put one quart in, replace dipstick then go through all gear and back check level
