Default Tranny/clutch Prob

Ok first off, I did a search. I think my problem is too specific and that's why I found nothing.....anyway...

Aight, so i'm on the 8E freeway and this car cuts me off, so I had to brake real hard and downshift back to 4th. When I did, it grabbed real hard, sorta like when you're racing and shifts pull real hard. The car shook but it was still running. I merged onto 163 and noticed it wasn't grabbing 3rd. Once I got off the freeway to Fashion Valley, all the gears worked, but if I was idling (in gear, clutch pressed all the way down, but not pressing the gas) the car would shake in 1st and 2nd. I managed to drive home fine, no problems, its just now I've noticed that I have to push real hard on the shifter for it to get into 3rd and sometimes 4th. And I'm still having that idling prob.....any ideas? Is it the tranny or clutch and any ideas on how much it would cost?

BTW, I have a 99 Civic Si

According on how the car was drove and how many miles are on the car the clutch may be about done for or possibly glazed up real nice. It's hard to say unless you have someone drive it for you and see.

car has never seen track/drag time and has 112,000 miles on it. Would a clutch cost me a left nut?

Anywhere from 100 - 200 bucks probably. And labor charges unless you do it yourself.

first thing, you should bleed your clutch and see if that fixes it. if it does not then get a whole new clutch set up. you might as well change everything while your down there. you can get a full clutch assembly that includes clutch, pressure plate, throw out and pilot bearing, alignment tool. good luck

Check the level of fluid in your MC reservoir to see if you have a leaky MC or slave cylinder. If there are no leaks, you need a new clutch.
