tps problem?
I have a 2000 civic si with a b18c1 swap has supertech valvetrain, blox intake manifold, hondata intake manifold gasket type r cams, blox 68mm throttle body with blox tps sensor and stock bottom end. This is car is a weekend driver, i noticed at the beginning of the summer my car would spit and sputter and then smooth out and throw tps sensor code. I have a boomslang conversion harness and a chipped p28 from innovative motor works. Then the speedometer quit working and is stuck 20mph. My friend and i used a voltmeter and checked the voltage on the tps it was way off, when we installed the tps it was set to wide open throttle 4.5v. and .5 closed. So he thought the tps was still good due to not alot of driving of the car since we swapped the b18c1, we could not get a accurate 4.5 volt with wide open throttle so he broke the tabs off the blox tps and used a dremel and with a farther turn we reached wide open throttle 4.4 volts. I replaced battery terminals, put a new ground from radiator support to valve cover, and brandnew vss from honda. I drove the car a few times this week and it does not consistently throw check engine code for tps. I ordered a new tps from password jdm blackworks racing. Is it common for tps sensor to cause issues with the speedometer. Once this week taking my son to school the speedometer worked turned the car off and then it was stuck back at 20mph any help is appreciated
