muffler suggestions
Ok Im a cheapskate, and bought a Spec d exhaust for Stinky (1995 Civic lx 5spd 420kmiles) for a whopping $145. Its a 2.5inch exhaust from the cat back with the giant coffee can "muffler" at the end. The "silencer" that comes with it should be called a loudner instead because all it does is make a lot of noise. I need a 2.5 inlet/outlet muffler that actually muffles for lack of better words. I know Im not the first to do this, so does anyone have any suggestions as to what muffler will fit the 2.5inch pipe and be quiet? Irealize that at 2.5 inches the choises will be more performance oriented therefore louder than stock, but it would still be better than the glasspack that it has on it.
Thanks,
And to the moderators of the board, if you move this post to a different board, would you be so kind as to let me know where you put it.

Re: muffler suggestions
A friend had a dynamax on his car (stock crx with 2.5" piping) and sounded like no other typical honda .. sounds awesome, fairly quiet with the grunt and zero raspyness..
If I were stock I would get one but I already have the 3" turbo back straight through piping with the huge hks hi power on my rex.

Re: muffler suggestions
Either put a Magna flow muffler on or just add a vibrant resonator.

Vibrant 1141 2.5" Ultra Quiet Resonator NEW | eBay
Install it after the header collector and before the muffler. It will drastically lower the tone and not really affect performance. Prolly your best bet unless you want a more stock looking muffler then add a Magna flow muffler and weld on a tip so it looks stock. Vibrant also sells a similar style muffler,

Re: muffler suggestions
Please don’t go with magnaflow, just go with vibrant, higher quality at low cost. I suggest you a ultra quiet resonator by vibrant like mentioned above 2.5inch , with a mugen twin loop if you have a good budget . Or just buy a flat black muffler by vibrant .

Re: muffler suggestions
I almost like the Thrush turbo, its quiet enough. It does hang a bit low for my liking so sooner or later (probably never) I figure out a way to tuck it into the muffler well a little better, but for now it works

Re: muffler suggestions
Magnaflow Is poorly made , and the rasp Is terrible …. For the same price you could get a vibrant and the quality Is a LOT better .
