Default Timing belt noises?

I have heard that timing belts can make noise when they are too tight. Is this true? The reason I ask is my car has started making a new noise that is getting on my nerves. It seems like when it warms up it will make a damn sound like a toy car or something only under accleration not or barely noticable at idle. Also it whistles when speeding up to upshift every once in a while...Maybe its just the alternator belt of A/C belt..

How do you check to see if your belts are too tight?

Thanks

My TB was too tight and it sounded like a supercharger (it made a weening noise when it accelerated). Try messing with the tensioner. It could also be your alternator or A/C which can also be easily adjusted. Sometimes cold weather causes the noises too.

hmm i have that supercharger sound but i dont think its the belt. Im guessing its my LSD. How tight should the belt be then, maybe thats my problem also.

The the belt is a little on the tight side. If you turn the crank counter clockwise with a 19mm wrench to TDC you should be able to twist the belt about half a turn on the exhaust side of the belt and almost half on the intake side...
