At least you didn't bend the compensator arm like I did.

I think my issue is that the rust around the bushing is keeping it in there pretty good.
I got kroil, I'll spray it on the TA bushing to loosen it up a bit.

Tearing it apart for maintenance, checking for top dead center and found it was a Honda belt. Inspection further determined a fresh cam seal, a shiny tensioner spring, honda stamp on the water pump with shiny new bolts.
So I'm good on this pieces, into the underside which is a complete disaster with oil everywhere. I thought it was possibly a bad rear main, but closer inspection showed tons of build up over the entire oil pan, but the major leak was confined to the end by the trans.
Clean inside. Notice the wet oil stains on the block where the gasket use to rest lol

My new Depot headlights should be arriving this afternoon! I'll probably spend some time tinkering with them until my fingers go numb! The original headlights are reflecting nearly ZERO light since the reflective foil on the inside of the housings is all but gone! No wonder I can't see anything!

Found that my beater del slo (aka the framebanger 9000) is burning oil at a incomprehensible rate. Just going to keep topping her off until I can finally junk the poor girl and my GSR buy a new daily.

It was Friday when we had good weather, but I did the vtec seals on my swapped D16Z6.
So far no leaks as I made sure to clean all the surfaces with brake cleaner and also let all the oil drain out of the bottom port prior to installing the new gaskets. I think people don't remove all oil from the mating surfaces either by not thoroughly cleaning or not allowing the oil to fully drain out to keep the surface oil free before install and end up with a leak.
I also poor man wrapped my wife's steering boot on her EH2 so as to keep the water, dirt and salt out of the inner tie rod until summer when I replace all the tie rods and install new OEM boots.
It's too bloody cold to be working on cars extensively outside!

I officially fucked up on 1 of the upper control arm bushings so now I'm gonna have to order another as well as 1 bushing for the compensator arm. I'm making head way with the deep sockets I need to hold and push, and finding methods to press in the new bushing with a big *** C clamp, or the ball joint kit from autozone.

But at least you are making head way with the bushings, that's the biggest hurdle.

i had a misfire on friday, unfortunately, and wasnt able to get to it until today. i had to do an oil change too so it worked out. all four plugs were pretty nasty. honestly i dont think you could tell which one was misfiring if you didnt have the code checker. anyways, i replaced 'em and had to re-gap them since the manual says 44ish and the ones i pulled out of the car were at 55 and the new ones were about 37. the car runs 10x smoother now.
i mean, it still smells like gas and oil and still burns oil which you can clearly see out the tailpipe but at least it runs better. i'm glad i didnt post earlier, that show car a few posts back would have really made my car look bad!

I'm gonna be tackling VTEC solenoid seals this weekend, and continue in my investigation of the mystery dizzy oil leak. Last night I ordered LCAs, UCAs, tie rods, new shocks and some TEIN S-tech springs. And I said I wasn't going to modify this car. Damnit, man.
