Want to build an NA B20 vtec, Any suggestions?
Any suggestions for this motor? Pistons (11.1-11.9 CR) , rods, any advice and so on. I'm going to top it off with an already built Toda B cam B16 head, ported by Portflow, and all the fixings.
any suggestions how to do the bottom end for a good reliable street/race motor?
also how high can i rev these things if balanced and blueprinted?
thanks in advance.
yes i did a search, not much in recent topics

Just becareful with the CR. b20 blocks do not like high compression, believed it or not, but I know many people who learned the hard way. around 11 is fine, do not go above it though. I miss my old b20vtec setup, time is in my sig.

Well that's just some blocks I guess because I know people running high compression on their stock sleeved B20 and ran their cars hard, and have no problems. Have a nice day.

IMO as well as others the sleeves are weaker on the B20 than other B-series blocks. Some probably get away with running 12:2+ CR with some good tuning. But I know a few people around my way who have built high CR B20vtec setups and either cracked a sleeve or ended up low compression in the cynliders.
