Default tail light removal

i feel retarded.. but do i have to take out the entire rear interior on a eg hatch to take off my outer tail lights?

no all u have to do is pull back the carpet where the light is and there are like 4 nuts u have u have to remove

pull the plastic thing back and open the bolts...... a little hard but its possible. , u dont have to take it off.

how is the middle piece that goes from one side to the other in the rear connected, i just dont want to break it..

i just got this hatch and it had a broken tail.. so i got some jdm tails..

im done now.. i just didnt wanna hurt my interior without knowing how it was all connected, i thought i could just post here and you guys would tell me.. but its ok..

yeah dont worry about it man, i felt like a dumbass too when i had to fix my taillight. i was also concerned i was gonna break something. better safe than sorry, right?

Not sure if you got it out already. But I just un did a few of the plastic push pins that hold the plastic in then carefully unsnapped the corner so I could get my arm and hand back in. I tried going through the dumb access panel and I could not get my socket on the nuts easily. Plus it made it a lot easier to get the nuts back on and I was not droping them and loosing them. Make sure you put the rubber/foam gasket on when you replace the lights or you may get some water in there.

Funny you say that.. both of my emblems were ripped off.. those are next on the list of **** to fix..

i'll have more pics of it later, i am just trying to get it in perfect shape.. paintless dent removal is next.. ive painted all my trim and it turned out really nice.. new headlights are on the way (should be here today.. jdm also haha)
