Surging Idle 1999 Civic
Ok, I had recently agreed to work on a buddie's car. The idle will surge from 1k to 2.5k rythmically. I swapped out the idle controller on the bottom of the TB but no dice. I changed the intake gasket and TB gasket... No dice... I stuffed a rag over the opening in the TB and the idle went down and it purs like a kitten. As soon as I take the rag out... It will rev up and begin surging again. My OBDII scanner is telling me there is a malfunction in the idle controller. It pops the codes P0505 I think... ANy ideas before I just plug the hole??

No need for the idiotic "umm"...nowhere in your post did you say you changed the whole throttle body. You're welcome for the help though. Have a good time with your problem...
I'd say stick the rag in your TB, that'll take care of it
