To you EG civics with the b16...
yea its a quarter mile question....
i don't think im gonna boost, so please don't just say "awh, just boost it"
i was thinking either: keep my d16z6 with every bolt on, and IF i boost i would supercharge it... or swap in a b16 into my civic and get like every bolt on possible...what do you guys think? the car will be for daily driving, and sometimes a 1/4 run.....any ideas? i know this is brung up alot, but if im gonna make a decision, i gotta make it. thanks, just getting some opinions
also, what are some quarter times for you guys with a b16 swap?

^^^^ not true. I woop all over local boosted D series. beat a GSR boosted 8lbs, Si with 10lbs, H22 prelude with 9lbs of boost. So boost wont always get better #'s

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
In terms of money vs. power boosting the D is much more efficient.
I bought a b16 and it's such a bitch to drive.....it's fun revving it up...but it just doesn't pull hard enough to make up for the lack of low end......so I'm boosting it.

Depending on what it's going in (EX/DX/VX hatch/coupe) the B16 can be pretty quick. Mine did 13.9 with I/H/E but in a VX hatch. That 150whp would be slower in a ex coupe but still pretty decent.
You say no boost now but drive it for a year and then you may upgrade to 100 more whp

Re: (nsxmatt)
IMO a D16 isn't really capable of cranking out numbers that are worthwhile unless it's boosted. If you don't want to boost I say go with the b16.
With the money you would be saving by not getting an expensive b16 you could be boosting your d16 instead. Turbo Ds can be worth it.

Re: (Slipjack)
I swapped a b16 in cuz my current engine was having problems and i needed something quick...
if I could do it over again I would have rebuilt my D16....bored it a bit, sleeved it.....forged internals.....buy a JDM d15b transmission.....and then a greddy 19t turbokit

I went 14.1. 92 VX Hatch, 99 B16A2, Apexi Header, 2.25" catback, CAI, full msd ignition, chipped p28, exedy stage 1 clutch, with a 2.0 60'.
EDIT
I just boosted my hatch with a full-race stage 2 turbo kit, hondata s200 tuned, ctr cams, cometic .074" 4 layer MLS head gasket, 550cc rc injectors, hondata IM gasket, supertech valve springs and retainers and 3" turbo back exhaust. Have a time slip next month.

i recently went to the track with my b16 vx hatch
ran ran a 15.51@90 mph with an amazing 2.5 60 ft.
i had massive wheel hop though, going through 1-2nd shift, 2-3, and 3-4 shift there was wheel hop.
yokohama avs es100's 195/50/15 not good for drag.
oh yeah, have a aebs intake mani, vtec controller, and a partial exhaust.

Re: (germz)
nsxmatts b16a is a freakish motor
ive never heard of anyone else running 13s with a b16a before
that or hes one hell of a driver
id say most b16a hatches run about a 14.7 (stock w/ i/h/e)

Re: (redline201)
if i boost my z6..it'll be a supercharger. i will have this car for a long time, and i understand boost can last a while, but i don't think the engine would stay as strong for as long with boost. and i take some long trips too.
the only way i would drop in a b16 is if i can get one from my local salvage yard for under 800...otherwise its a built/slight possibly boosted z6
