Strange CEL and No Vtec.

Default Strange CEL and No Vtec.

Y8 head/B7 block. Obd2-1 conv. 97 Sedan.

Installed a new valve spring because one cracked.
Install went smoothly.
Start driving and I get a CEL. I check it, and the CEL flashes once every 10 seconds. No it is not a code 10, or 1. I know how both those work, I have had them before.
Secondly, vtec is not engaging. Yes I am positive. I know how it feels/sounds, and I have a vtec light for reasons like this.
Shut off car, CEL is gone, drive for a minute and it returns.
Strange thing. I was out driving, and I passed vtec engagement point, and it did not cross over, then a few seconds later I tried again and it engaged.
But then never again after that.
As an experiment I unplugged my tps to see if it would read the code correctly.
It didnt. It would flash once every 15-20 seconds. Very strange.
I plug in my stock y8 p2p ecu to see how it goes.
Still no vtec, and 3 CEL's.
23 - Knock sensor (obd1 b7 block)
54 - Crank fluctuation sensor (obd1 b7 block)
65 - Secondary o2 sensor (For the obvious reasons)
None of these apply to my obd1 ecu. Meaning no CEL's.

It is strange how I can check my codes with the y8 ecu, but not with the obd2-1 harness and ecu.
I have been running the conversion for over a year without a problem.

Feedback from people who have had a similiar problem would be greatly appreciated. No guessing that wasnt thought through.

BTW- I have been reading on H-T for about 2 years. Never became a member because I hate a lot of the B/S that goes on here. But all the great tech I find here makes up for it.
