Default Steam coming from radiator overflow - car overheating - help?

I was driving my del Sol during my lunch break - went to the store, let it idle for a few minutes to cool, no problem. When I got back to work and let it idle, I noticed that the engine temp was on H, and there was an odd sound underneath the hood. I popped it and saw steam coming from the plastic radiator reservoir (that screws on), and fluid boiling over and going all over the ground. The reservoir, btw, is not broken - the coolant was seeping between the plastic cap and the reservoir. There was no evidence of a leak anywhere else on the radiator, and no white smoke coming out the exhaust. Any ideas?

BTW, I've tried searching but couldn't find anything on radiators. Overheating came up with way too many results. Anybody have an idea?

bump - anyone want to help here?

And where's the thermostat and how can I check it to see if it's stuck and fix it?

I'd rather run too cold than too hot if that's what it is - is there a way to make it stick the other way until I can replace it?

did you change the coolant recently, if you did did you bleed the air out, or make sure there wasnt any air in the system, and if you changed it, did you mix the proper amount of anti-freeze to water, caz if you put too much water, it can boil, good luck

follow your upper rad hose to the motor. where it hooks on is the thermostat housing. there are two 10mm bolts in it.
