stay sohc
wouldnt it be really cool if i take my sohc civic and make it a 14 sec. car? Do you think this is possible. Reason for doing this is because I dont want to buy a new motor because you always see civics running b16's and other motors. Instead why not boost my sohc because you dont really see it. It might be hard but I love a challange. Who's with me?!?!

Re: stay sohc (HXvtec)
That's what I plan on doing with my GF's Ex, she doesn't need a super machine, just one fast enough to blow off all the idiots in her town. In a year or so, I'm probably gonna slap on the Edelbrock turbo after some internal work. Anything is possible with money.

It's not. Go for a ride in an integra gsr then go for a ride in a camaro/vette/mustang, maybe it'll enlighten you...

Slap on a turbo..there ya go..14 second car. 14s are not all that fast, but for a dialy driver, I think a low 14 is more than fast enough..seriously, what the hell do you need a 12 second car for in everyday driving??

If I raced you and beat you because you run 14's with a sohc, I would not be any more impressed with your car's performance than if you had a dohc running 14's.

Great...who gives a **** what you think
14's are easily achievable with a D-Series. Make sure you have a Z6/Y8 transmission first of all...then do I/H/E, a cam, and slicks...and you should have no problems running low 15's / high 14's. If you really wanna go extreme, do P29 pistons for high compression or go turbo...

As many people who give a **** about what YOU think -> 0
So he should go ahead and do i/h/e/cams/high comp pistons/SLICKS on his daily driver that he doesn't want to be fast, just quick on the street, huh.

Re: stay sohc (boostsohfast)
Okay, for N/A go for the higher compression pistons, Y8 head, cam, AEM ITR CAI...hell, just seach for Spade's thread on the D series buildup!! Nevermind...did it for you!!

Re: stay sohc (boostsohfast)
you'll see 15's with I/H/E - Clutch/Flywheel - GOOD DRIVER easily in a d-series. Anything underneath that is where you start to lose streetability i.e. removing accessories like AC and Power steering, weight reduction, cams that idle crappy, high compression pistons thats need high octane fuel, etc.

Re: stay sohc (Taffeta_EK9)
Getting 14's out of D16 isn't impossible........ There's the choice of boosting, or if you have the money build the motor up. There's things out there for the D series.......and if 14's is what you want........then let's not say it's not possible, you just need the $$$.
