Default standard transmission

ok i want to drain my standard transmission and i know how to do it but i don't know what fluid to use and how much fluid to put back in? is automatic fluid ok ?

honda manual trans fluid, or jsut regular 10w30 will work, takes about 2.3 quarts i believe. there is another plug in the side of the trans that you pull out, and once fluid starts to drip out you are full.

i'm just assumeing but there is 2 plugs the lower one is for draining and the upper one is filling until fluid comes out? only honda has fluid for standard transmissions?

GM also has their own special fluid, its called GM synchromesh, a lot of the honda guys swear by it.

You assumed correctly! The lowest one is the drain, then you can use the higher one to pour in the fluid or through the VSS, which is on top of the tranny. But make sure to fill ON A FLAT SURFACE, not on jacks. Do remove that fill plug, and pour in until it start to leak out. Or just do 1.8 quarts worth.

Use Honda brand MTF or like mentioned Pennzoil Synchromesh. Honda is like $7.70/qt now and Pennzoil is around 7.99/qt.
