setting cams at TDC? How do you know?
I am about finished with my bottom end rebuild in my 2000 Si w/ a B16A. Here's the question:
How do I set my cams in? The Helms doesn't say anything for this. I have Skunk2 cams gears and they have little notches for TDC and every 90 degrees after, but I am not sure how to set them in the head. I have the crank at TDC and I am ready to put the timing belt on so I can readjust my valves. Please help for those of you that have done this. Should the TDC notch on the gear be pointing directly up? or should it be at an angle toward the passengar compartment? Thanks.

well where the notches are is where up should be! and where the cam gears meet they should have a dot that lines up together! got a list of the whole build? but anyways good luck and if you dont understand it im sure someone else can explain it better!

I think I know what you mean. Make sure that the smaller 90 degree notches line up next to each other and that should be TDC. It just takes this break and sitting back to realize what I should do. Any more suggestions?
The Build:
Crower rods
9.9 SRP pistons w/ JE rings
ARP Head Bolts
ACL bearings
standard 81mm bore on the B16A
not touching the valve train yet.
TD05-18G Greddy turbo w/ AEM
I can't wait for the dyno!

Take another look, it should be in there.

I finally got the gears to match along with the crank at TDC. You have to loosen that tensioner nut more than 180 degrees. Then everything falls in and the belt can be tightened back up and 3 teeth counterclockwise. Thanks guys.
