OK so originally my brake pedal pressure sucked. I would have to push the brake pedal down at about halfway for the brakes to grab. I've bled the brakes time after time after time and trust me, I have no air in the lines so that isn't the issue. So far I changed the master cylinder but the problem is still there.

Recently, I upgraded my brakes to integras specs. Here's what I changed:
front Integra calipers
stainless steel lines all around
rear disc conversion from gsr
went from a 13/16 mc to a 15/16mc
4040 prop valve

I just installed these parts right now and went for a test drive after I bled the brakes to no surprise that the brake pedal pressure is still the same! Except, after halfway the brakes feel real stiff and firm. Before the halfway point, it's like nothing, like a dead feeling. I don't get it, i'm stumped, the only things I haven't changed so far is the brake booster. Could a bad brake booster cause this problem?

Did you bench-bleed the master cylinder 100% before installing it?

yea, i bench bled the master cylinder before i installed it

actually now that i'm getting used to it right now. The brakes grab fine and all, grabs really good with ultimate pads and ss lines. It's just that dead extra slack that bugs me.

That dead slack definitely shouldn't be there. I'm pretty sure you still have air somewhere in the lines. (once you get air in there, it's sometimes really hard to get it out) I would try bench bleeding the master cylinder again and then bleed the brakes. Make sure you follow the correct bleeding procedure. GL

I had this same problem too before i upgraded to integra brakes. I've bled the brakes so many times that I can't count anymore but it would always b the same outcome, that dead slack. I just changed the brake check valve but it didn't help, was worth a shot. I've bled the **** out of the brakes, but i'll bleed it again i guess.

i understand that your master cylinder and calipers are new, but how are the condition on the seals? is their evidence you brake fluid anywhere?(you can tell because of stripped paint)

also have you been opening your metering vavle when bleeding?


and it definetly wouldnt be your brake booster.

I'm also having exactly the same problem! but that's when I change my rubber line to Project Mu' line... that dead slack really bugging me . I guess I have to bleed them some more

I have the same problem, I bleed the brake 218492 times.. I was so pissed off I go to acura dealer, they bleed it with a machine... and same problem. They said its the hand brake screw on my rear caliper that are stuck.. so I fix them.. and same problem again.. btw new disque news pads on all 4 corners.. new front caliper, new master cylinder.. HELP ME.. the car brake like crazy but the pedal is not enough firm.. there's this dead slack
