Screeching sound when starting the car
Since it has been cold here in Michigan I have noticed a horribly loud screeching sound coming from under my hood. It also likes to make the sound if I’m turning and will make a fait screech when I’m just at idle. I think it’s the power steering belt but I could be wrong. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem and what I could/should do about it. Any one have an estimate as to how much it may cost me to get fixed or how easy it could be to fix it myself.

Cold and snowing right, the belt maybe probably be in good shape, it's probably getting wet though.

on my 88 dx,when i had ac it was the ac pulley itself.the bearing was half hanging out of it.i ended up cutting the belt and it went away.it's a sound you never forget really,just look around the belts/pulleys.
