Default running too rich?

had a problem that was causing my car to lose spark got it fixed and talked to the previous owner to see if he knew anything bout this he said it was the vtec air flow converter that was making it run too rich. this didnt seem right to me cause thats for the vtec but idk.... so i was wondering if there were settings in this to prevent running too rich before i bought a fpr. also my fuel pressure gauge is reading 2.5kg/cm^2 on idle converted is about 35.5psi is that proof that it is running too rich or is that what it is suppose to be at.

Is the CEL on?

The fuel pressure seems okay. When were the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor last replaced and the ignition timing checked?

the CEL is on but it is for the o2 sensor after the cat cause i already replaced the one before. when i got the car fixed they replace the plugs, ignitor, and coil. btw i have no idea what the ignitor and the coil are if u wanna explain those that would be cool...lol

You might want to replace the distributor cap and rotor as well.

Basically, the coil makes spark for the plugs and the igniter unit in conjunction with the ECU tells the coil when to spark.

I'm also having a similar problem. My car is running really rich, I get 150mi. To the tank and I backfire like crazy.

I installed a new TPS and it didn't fix it.

Funny thing is, it was working fine with a Y7 TB w/ Z6 rotor, it just idled horrible. So I installed a y8 throttle body and it fixed the idle, but then it ran super rich.

An FPR would fix this?

I'd start by checking the ignition and mechanical timing. Is the CEL on?
