It will run fine.
I was running an automatic ECU on my boosted LS. You will throw a code 1660 (which isn't a "normal" code listed). It is one for the automatic shift soleniod. Your car will run fine with that code.
It throws the code because you have to have the shift solenoid in the PARK position in order to take the key out. I suppose the car finds it odd that it is driving in the PARK position, hence the code.

Not sure if its different, but when I converted my auto to manual it ran just fine. But as stated before it will throw a code. There was no surging, but like I said this was on a d16z6

just open the ecu and unplug the top circuit board, thats what controls the tranny on the autos and you will be fine

the surging is from the computer trying to regulate the stall in the tourque converter

Just run a chipped obd I ecu. Save yourself a hasle. There are no obd I b20 ECUs right? If it was obdI it could be chipped in like 5 minutes.

that doesnt sound like a bad idea actually. so you're saying get a chipped P75 ecu? just waiting so long to find all these OBD1 LS parts i want this swap so badly. im sure some of you know what that feels like

Re: (Lambo123)
You don't have to run a chipped p75. You can run p05 or any obd I ecu you can get your hand on. Just make sure you get it chipped with some b20 program from uberdata or some stuff like that.

Is this true? I am having a surging problem in my manual d16a6 running a auto p28 ecu. Can anybody else confirm this?
I want to make sure this is my problem before I go out and buy a new o2 sensor.

I had a chipped automatic p28 on my manual civic that caused a surging idle. After converting it over to a manual ecu by removing the resistors it ran fine with no idle problems. Then again it ran fine as an auto ecu on another guys manual teg so... this may or may not help.

Re: (posite)
Cool. Right now I don't have an obd1 o2 sensor, and I was thinking that might cause it, but I'm going to be running a innovate wideband, and don't want to have to buy a stock one to figure this problem out now.
Anyways, anybody else have a surging idle with a auto ecu in a manual car?
