Ripped CV boot
any1 know how long until I should replace it?
I just bought it and I don't really have the means to repair it at the moment.. i'm in las vegas, so theres a lot of dirt and crap, but I only run the car 10 miles a day.
I know once it clicks, ima replace it ASAP.. but does any1 know a time frame of how long till it starts clicking?
and how much would a reasonable quote on labor to replace just 1 axle [driver side]

Re: Ripped CV boot
if its the outer boot, i dont know how long those last.
but, when i ripped my inner cv joint, i put about 200 miles on it and replaced it, but my ace certified instructor said those can last thousands of miles
but inner cv boots last longer than outer because they dont bend at high angles like the outers

It really depends. Mine was completely ripped off and I drove a few hundred miles before I replaced it. (I honestly didn't know it was completetly gone). And my axle was still fine. It's just better to replace ASAP anyways. But there's something you can buy to put on it to seal it also.
