Default replacing rotors..do i need to replace pads?

when braking, my steering wheel is shaking. figure it's the rotors. was going to get some autozone duralast rotors. I think the pads still have some meat on them. do i need to replace them too? will the warped rotor do anything to the pad? how do i get it even?

I think your best bet would be to replace them too since you were having issues with braking. Would it shake under hard braking or basically any kind at all? Did it vibrate at all, did you hear any noise, and would it pull to one side? This kind of info would help us better.

i would highly recommend replacing your pads when you put new rotors so you dont put the same wear pattern on your new rotors that you had on your old ones.

What the Christ kind of Civic do you run? $32+ at AutoZone for 10.9 (262 mm) rotors [each] on my 96 EX. NAPA only wanted $25 though.

I replaced pads when I did rotors, despite them being Nissin (AEM 26-160) pads with plenty of life left.

that is the problem...

dx/lx,cx rotors are dirt cheap. practically take them to the recyclers and get more for the raw steel they are made of. of course that is an exaggeration :p

Exactly.

Yes, and that is why.

1/where are you getting those prices from autozone. only thing i seen was valuecraft for $25/each, and those were the cheapest. plus everyone says stay away from them. next was duralast which are $38.99/each.

pads where $25/pair the cheapest.

2/also can someone explain how autozone warranty work on rotors /brakes. as for the lifetime brake pads, and 2 year rotors...

3/ does anyone know if the duralast pads are any good. i was planning on getting the duralast gold for $25. it's just going to be used for daily street driving. i do speed. but worried about squealing/screezing.
