To be a little more helpful, if it's leaking badly, you will see oil around the clutch cover plate, if it's not as bad, oil will be inside the cover, possibly on or around the clutch components, or if it's minimal, you won't see it until you take off the clutch and flywheel and actually look at the main seal. That help?

Where the tranny bolts to the block.
If it's leaking from the bottom thats a rear main seal leak.

If its leaking under the distributor thats not even close to the rear main. When the rear main goes bad oil will run down the block and puddle ontop of that little black flywheel cover under the trans/engine.

If, and only IF you have Vtec... you can try the vtec solenoid. I had that leak on mine and it ran down and landed where you described. Just something to check. Its about a 15 minute/$20 fix if you go with OEM parts.

someone correct me if im wrong, but leaking oil under ur distributor is 90% ur distributor seal... the other 10% chance is that its leaking from ur valve cover gasket and you just havent inspected it properly... whoever said "oil goes down not up" pretty much solved this case with those few words... if ur rear main seal was bad ur undercarriage would look like this..

Good luck to whatever ur issue may be though, but IMO its not gonna cost u more than 15 bucks an 15 minutes to solve...

Yep take some carb cleaner to the area really well followed by some compressed air to dry it off.
Drive and inspect. If it comes back oily again then you have issues.

Have you been keeping an eye on oil level. If you are not burning/leaking oil it should stay at the line. If it is constantly low or goes down than you have an oil consumption problem.
