Default Radio Help 93 Del sol

So I need to re-wire my instrument cluster harness to my radio. Its a pioneer radio. I don't know which wire will go to what. Is there any references out there to help me??

Get the metra adapter harness, works great. No hacking of the stock harness.

My harness is already chopped up from the previous owner. What would you suggest then.

Go to a junkyard, pull a harness that hasn't been hacked up, then follow angrysmileyface's advice.

While that would be ideal, it would require a del sol with auto trans, so first you have to find a del sol( not seen that often) then it needs to be an automatic

Another idea is to look through eBay and find someone parting an auto del sol, they may not list the harness but might be willing to pull I have had success before that way

The other alternative is solder shrink tubing the schematics and patience

It's your choice. Regardless, solder and shrink wrap insulate any cut/spliced wires to avoid problems.

I had to this to 2 of my cars in the past. Was a pain in that tight space. But, since your harness is already out, it should be easier for you. Go to the junkyard and cut the radio harness off of a Del Sol or Civic. Try to cut as much wire length as you can. Follow RonJ's wiring diagram then solder and heat shrink from there. Now you've got an oem plug again. Good Luck.

Edit: Oops! Forgot you mentioned the Pioneer head unit. You can solder and heat shrink the Pioneer's harness to your DeL Sol's radio harness too. But, if you decide to change out your radio/stereo in the future, you'll have to do it all over again. I prefer to keep the oem harness/plug and just use an adapter harness for ease of replacement or going back to a stock head unit. Good Luck again.

Yeah! I'm going to! I actually ordered a reverse harness. Its from Metra and it brings back the OEM plug by wiring it to the cut off harness. It was only 6$. So ill wait for that to come in.

Okay so i re wired my cluster to make the OEM plug again. I wired the stereo harness and plugged it in to the new OEM plug and my car didn't start or beep or crank or nothing.

Now, i did have 4 black wires hanging to. I only wired one into the new ground wire. Did i mess up there? Im so frustrated.

This is a technical forum. Is there a reason you're not posting some really nice pictures of the black wires so we can see them and their location. The more information you provide, the better and faster advice you'll get.

Is your battery disconnected? Does anything electrical work in the car? If so, list them.

5 Black wires

5 Black wires

I did soder them. But i messed up and had to use the connectors. I know there not the best but they'll have to do for now.. I don't know what to do with these wires. I had one connected to the black wire on the reverse harness(new oem plug) but disconnected it for the pic. As far as any electronics turning on, I had nothing. Shouldn't my car be able to start or something without a radio anyway?
